We upgrade all radar models
including magnetron systems, low-power solid-state systems, and
TWT-based systems. We’ve been designing and manufacturing
Doppler weather radar systems for years. We have the expertise and
the experience. Our “hands on” in-house engineering
services can provide customer specific solutions incorporating your
existing infrastructure.

Upgrades for Low-Power
Solid-State Systems
If your “upgrade” still looks like
it needs an upgrade, WDS’ high-performance low-emission transmitter/receiver
solution offers the latest in Doppler processing in a small lightweight
design package. It will give your essentially new radar “big
iron” performance capabilities while keeping your existing
antenna, radome, and tower.
Upgrades for Magnetron Systems
All magnetron systems are based on dated technology
with emerging problems such as non-compliance with RF-exposure guidelines
and problematic licensing issues. WDS can replace your magnetron
with its technologically advanced fully coherent TWT-based transmitter/receiver.
Convert your radar into a high-performance, low-emission system
while keeping your existing infrastructure.

Dual Polarization Hardware Upgrade
This high-end upgrade can more than double your
radars ability to distinguish between many target types with unique
signatures such as rain, hail, sleet, freezing rain, graupel, and
more. All government NexRad systems are slated for dual polarization
upgrades.
Processor Upgrades
By merely upgrading your existing radar’s
Doppler processor, your radar can support higher scanning speeds,
will have finer data resolution, the latest processing algorithms,
and a modern control/data interface, and will be fully scaleable.
This cost-effective upgrade also allows future expandability without
